INTER MILAN'S CEO SPEAKS ON ROMELU LUKAKU'S TRANSFER TO THE SERIE A

This decision by the AIU also means that Nigeria has lost its potential qualification place for the women's 4×100 meters relay at next month's World Athletics Championships Oregon22. According to reports, this was because six days after Okagbare evaded sample collection on June 13th, 2022, she competed in the 4×100m relay events at the Olympic trials.

The Athletics Integrity Unit said that Okagbare has been found to have committed additional anti-doping rule violations specifically evading sample collection&tampering or attempted tampering with the doping control process. Her current 10-year ban has been extended by one year.

The dreams of others Athletes have now been dashed because of Blessing Okagbare's actions. Our 4x100m relay won't compete at the World Championship in Oregon next month ( July).

Why Blessing Okagbare is Banned?

The AIU said it is working closely with USADA “to follow developments in the matter (the criminal investigation),” regarding Lira and the ‘sole arbitrator’ that worked on her doping case had identified Okagbare as ‘Athlete 1’.

“On 12 January 2022, the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced the unsealing of a first criminal charge under the Rodchenkov Anti-Doping Act against Eric Lira, a US based “naturopathic” therapist, who is alleged to have supplied performance-enhancing drugs to athletes before the Tokyo Olympic Games.

“The sole arbitrator concluded that Athlete 1 named in the criminal complaint is Blessing Okagbare.”

The indictment included encrypted correspondence from Okagbare — identified only as “Athlete 1” — and Lira where the Nigerian testifies to the effectiveness of the substances following Olympic trials in Lagos on June 17, where she clocked a wind-assisted 10.63sec in the 100m.

The Call between Okagbare and Eric

“Hola amigo / Eric my body feel so good / I just ran 10.63 in the 100m on Friday / with a 2.7 wind / I am sooooo happy / Ericccccccc / Whatever you did, is working so well,” Okagbare wrote.

In a later message, Lira said Okagbare was poised to “dominate” in Tokyo.

“What you did . . . is going to help you for the upcoming events,” Lira wrote. “You are doing your part and you will be ready to dominate.”

The indictment also included details of further exchanges between Okagbare and Lira after she is informed of her positive test.

Call me urgently. . . [t]hey said one of my result came out positive on HGH . . . I don’t understand,” Okagbare wrote.

Lira is the first person to be arrested under the new U.S anti-doping law governing international sports competitions. According to the U.S. Attorney's office in Manhattan, Lisa distributed drugs, which include human growth hormone and erythropoietin, a blood hormone, which is for the purpose of corrupting the 2020 games.

Okagbare was suspended for testing positive for human growth hormone in July 2021, which led to her immediate disqualification from the Olympic Games. The Athletics Integrity Unit also confirmed that Okagbare tested positive for a blood booster in June last year. She was charged with failing to cooperate with the investigation after she disobeyed an order to produce documents, records, and electronic storage devices in relation to other charges.

THE REVELATION

The latest reports from the Okagbare scandal showed that the Nigerian was in constant communication with the Lira while she was at the Olympic Games in Japan.

She wrote to him, according to the complaint.''Is it safe to take it this morning? ''Remember I took it Wednesday and then yesterday again. I was not sure, so I did not take a test.

In another communication between both parties during the games, Okagbare wrote to Lira that she just ran 10.63 seconds in the 100 meters heat. '' Eric, my body feels so good, she wrote. Whatever you did is working so well. Lira replied to her, '' You are doing your part and you will be ready to dominate.

Lira has been charged under the Rodchenkov Act, a law signed in 2020 that prohibits any person, other than an athlete, to knowingly influence any major international sports competition with the use of the prohibited substance.

The athlete has claimed her innocence in the whole incident and has called on God to fight her battle. She made a post on her official Facebook account after the AIU released a statement.

To God of all grace, truth, and vengeance. Hear my heart cry.

Okagbare was suspended during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after testing positive for a human growth hormone following an out-of-competition test.

She recently tested positive for recombinant erythropoietin ( EPO) a substance that is responsible for the increase of red blood cells. She is also accused of not cooperating with the AIU investigation.

The Unit said the Olympic medalist failed to comply with formal requirements to produce relevant documents, records, and electronic storage devices needed for the investigation.

She believes the affected Athletes who were based in Nigeria did not get the proper information they needed before going to Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Okagbare made this statement via her official Twitter account on Thursday, July 29th, 2021. She said,

If anyone who does not know the sports or has no passion for the Athletes, then such a person has no business being an administrator.

The Sports system in Nigeria is so flawed, and we the Athletes are the ones who receive the end of the damages.

Ten Nigerian Athletes were earlier banned for not observing no-notice out-of-competition tests (urine and blood) which are to be conducted not less than three weeks apart in the ten months leading up to a major event.
