The second pair of housemates to be evicted from the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) 2024 house has been confirmed in an official announcement.

The show kicked off with host Ebuka Obi Uchendu, who recapped the week's events. His initial questions stirred up the house when he asked Nne about the Zinwe pair (Zion and Chinwe), to which she vaguely replied that she couldn't remember her exact comments on the situation.

The bottom four housemates for week 2 were Zinwe, Ndinne, Radicals, and Flourish. The custodians for the week, Streeze (comprising Mayor Frosh and Toby Forge), were tasked with determining which pair to save.

They selected a box labelled "EVICT ONLY," which presented a difficult decision as Big Brother called them into the diary room to make their choice. After deliberation, Streeze chose the pair to leave the house, and Ebuka announced that Ndinne, the outgoing Head of House for week 2, were evicted. The first housemate pair to be evicted from the BBNaija 2024 has been confirmed in an official announcement on the first eviction show.

The viewer voting results for their favourite nominated housemate up for eviction have been announced. Following the immunity challenge on Monday night, Big Brother placed all 12 remaining pairs of housemates up for possible eviction, leaving their fate in the house in the hands of the viewers.

The pair with the fewest votes will be evicted during the live eviction show on Sunday for week 1. Two pairs of housemates, however, have gained immunity from eviction after winning the custodian challenge and the immunity challenge.

The Custodians, who were the first to receive immunity this season, are safe from this week's nomination process. They also participated in the Custodian Lock-In, where they randomly selected a box or card containing a power that could impact nominations or evictions.

This power was revealed on Sunday. Ndi Nne is not the only duo saved from the nomination block, as Friends Beta (Tjay and Ben) won this week's immunity challenge and were also not nominated.

The Head of House challenge is getting a major twist. BBNaija organizers announced that right after meeting the housemates, the Custodian Challenge will kick off at 9 pm on Sunday. Renamed the Head of House Ballot, the selection process for the first Head of House will take place at 10 am on Monday, July 29. Following this, there will be the Custodian Lock-In, the Immunity Challenge, and the nominations.

In a recent article published by Vanguard Newspaper on September 30, 2023, Felix Otabor, the father of Josephina Otabor, popularly known as Phyna and the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, made allegations that his daughter had abandoned her family after receiving a prize of 100 million naira from Big Brother Naija.

Felix Otabor and his entire family believed that Josephina Otabor popularly known as Phyna was the answer to all their prayers concerning finances. However, in his interview with Vanguard newspaper, he accused Phyna of abandoning her entire family after emerging as the winner. Her father claimed that the day she was announced winner of Big Brother Naija was the last day her family set eyes on her. “She disappeared into thin air as soon as the prize money was handed over to her, and she never returned home to butter our bread,” said Mr. Felix Otabor.

Phyna took to her Snapchat to react to these heinous accusations made by her father. Phyna said that her parents never showed her any type of parental love and had to beg for their affection. Phyna also said that while growing up her parents had always told her that she wasn’t their daughter.

According to her Snapchat story “Growing up, I always hear you are not my daughter…yet I would beg for parental love. The truth is I have always begged people to love me. Today I have finally accepted it. I guess I am an orphan.”

Phyna also said that if she were to die her body should not be buried but instead given to her parents to eat. “They must eat my corpse”

It is evident that this situation has caused a deep rift within the family, and both Phyna and her father have made serious allegations against each other.

Ilebaye was crowned the winner of the eighth season of the popular reality television series amidst all odds and expectations.

Amidst numerous evictions as well as drama on the show, a total of six contestants made it to the final of the show.

Pere, like Adekunle, had earned his place in the finals after surviving the last eviction. This had marked Pere as the second housemate from the Shine Ya Eye edition to reach the final stage that season.

Cross had become the first finalist in the All-Stars edition when he had utilized 4,000 Moniepoint to acquire the coveted ultimate immunity pass.
