After the success of his fourth cancer surgery, the talented artist shared videos of his success and revealed how he overcame the deadly terminal illness.

He said “Final Score –Christ 4 – Cancer Tumors 0. Sometimes, your faith in God will not prevent the storms from coming… but it will carry you through them. Faith won’t always stop you from hurting, but it will help you heal, and it will help you deal.”

Continuing, he said “God never said the weapons wouldn’t form, He promised that they wouldn’t prosper. He never said the enemy wouldn’t come…He promised that when the enemy came in like a flood, the Spirit of God would raise a standard against him. Posting this testimony to encourage anyone out there who is going through a challenge.”

He then advised fans who may be feeling lost saying, “It might seem bigger than you, but greater is He that is in you than anything you will face in this world. Grateful for my wife, family, friends, and Pastors for their love, prayers, and support. Thanking God for my health and trusting that this latest victory is final in Jesus’ name.”

Lastly, he appreciated those who were there for him during those times, “Appreciating the gifted hands and minds of my doctors, Dr. Onyewu of the Center for Advanced Specialty Surgery, and Dr. Adenuga of Euracare and the teams that support them. We have the victory yet again. Now and forever, in Jesus’ name. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” – Romans 8:28.”

Nigerian music sensation, Davido has weighed in on the ongoing debate surrounding Afrobeats and R&B, shedding light on the nuanced differences between the two genres.

This comes after fellow artist, Wizkid's reluctance to be labeled solely as an Afrobeats artist.

A throwback video of Davido resurfaced online today, Sunday, March 17, 2024, capturing the artist articulating his perspective on the matter.

When asked to differentiate between R&B and Afrobeats, Davido pointed out notable R&B singers like Johnny Drille, Chike and Banky W, asserting that some of his own tracks fall within the R&B spectrum. Contrary to common misconceptions, Davido clarified that Afrobeats is not a style of music, rather it is used to describe African musicians.

He explained the cultural essence embedded within Afrobeats, emphasizing its roots in African musical traditions. Highlighting the evolving nature of Afrobeats, Davido mentioned Odumodublvck, an African-born hip-hop artist who, despite primarily producing drill music, is categorized under the Afrobeats umbrella.

He further attributed the original sound of Afrobeats to the legendary Fela Kuti, tracing its origins back to his pioneering contributions.

As the global acclaim for Afrobeats continues to soar, Davido's words serve as a testament to the genre's dynamic evolution and enduring cultural significance.

Susu & Banky W - Champ's Song Lyrics

Really excited that you're on the way
Can't wait to look at your face
Can't wait to hold you, can't wait to kiss you
Can't wait to carry you babe

Me and your Mama been waiting
Me and your daddy 'been patient
Glad that He answered our prayers
Now we can finally start celebrating
And as you get older
Always remember
No matter the weather
You are a winner
Love you forever and a day
No matter what happens
You are our champion

As long as sun still dey for sky
As long as moon dey shine for night
As long as I still dey alive
I will be there for you
As long as sun still dey for sky
As long as moon dey shine for night
As long as I still dey alive

I will be there for you
You know I try to be great
I know you gon' be greater
So don't you ever be afraid (nah)
When your dreams get bigger
'Cause nothing can stop you
No one can stand in your way
No matter what people say
Focus on running your race

Know that you're covered by Grace
And if it gets colder
Always remember
No matter the weather
You are a winner
Love you forever and a day
No matter what happens
You are my champion

As long as sun still dey for sky
As long as moon dey shine for night
As long as I still dey alive
I will be there for you
As long as sun still dey for sky
As long as moon dey shine for night
As long as I still dey alive
I will be there for you

Listen young man
Before you were born, we already loved you
and already your number one fan
As far as battles are concerned
You win and you learn
And that's why you're called 'champ'
Go be whatever you want man (go)
Just place your faith into God's plan
'Cause in His strength you can do all things

Yeah
Pray you find your purpose
That's what makes life worth it
I pray you find the courage
To fly 'cause you deserve it
Ray you have a crazy faith
That never lets you give up

My baby had a baby
And I pray we have your sister
As long as sun still dey for sky
As long as moon dey shine for night
As long as I still dey alive
I will be there for you
As long as sun still dey for sky
As long as moon dey shine for night
As long as I still dey alive
I will be there for you

Nigerian legendary artist Bankole Wellington has commented on the tragic passing of the late hip-hop star, alias Imole, from Nigeria.

He expressed his sadness over the singer's mysterious passing in an interview with BBC Pidgin published on September 25, 2023, for the sake of everyone involved. Banky emphasised the necessity of a thorough probe.

He said, "The story of Mohbad's death is a heartbreaking and sad one, it was terrible what happened to him. There have been two things on my mind, number one his death, and honestly they need to conduct a proper investigation for the sake of his wife, his son, fans, and associates. I heard that the governor has brought the DSS into the investigation but they should be thorough with their investigation because the world is watching".

The singer/actor/politician emphasized the importance of thorough investigations to prevent panicked individuals from speculating on social media. Then he encouraged the police to investigate both the circumstances of his death and his mistreatment while still alive in great detail.

In his words, "They need to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death and find out what happened. We are all watching closely so it won't be as though we are all jumping to conclusions, so the investigation is key to finding out the truth about what killed him. It has been a long time since I left the music industry but seeing the way this story has unfolded the past week has been very heartbreaking. Number two the living hell he went through while he was alive because there is no reason under the sun that he had to go through that bullying and intimidation without a hiding place."

Banky further said that policies should be established to safeguard individuals so that bullies are aware that their actions will have repercussions.

Soon after his death, there was a widespread clamour for an investigation into it, and the police promptly responded and got to work. On September 21, 2023, his body was exhumed for an autopsy, and now everyone is waiting for the results.
