There were rumours among football fans that Victor Osimhen would be drafted back into the team in a bid to accommodate two strikers going into the rest of the 2024/25 season. The Italian confirmed while speaking to newsmen in an interview that any player who has been left out of the squad for the season will not be reintegrated back into the team.

"No player will be reintegrated, those who are out of the project will remain out of the project. We made our choices and work in one direction all together”.

Osimhen missed out on the chance to leave Napoli despite offers from Al-Ahli and Chelsea but both deals did not see the light of day due to failure to reach the club's valuation and player's wages respectively. The 26-year-old will have to wait till January 2025 when the next transfer window opens.

Hazard spent seven years of his career at Chelsea, winning two Premier League titles under Mourinho and Conte.

The Belgian scored 85 goals in 245 league games for the Blues before departing to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2019. However, he failed to replicate the same performance in Spain due to injuries which saw his career decline but he eventually decide to hang his boots.

The Italian International was speaking in an exclusive interview with the Telegraph where he was speaking about his time in the Premier League with Chelsea and Tottenham. He joined the Blues during the 2016 summer transfer window after a disappointing season had just ended for Chelsea with Guss Hiddink finishing the season as an interim manager during the 2015/16 season.

Conte said in the interview that his style of play to have a three-man defence was not a negative approach to football as compared to what the public thought about his style of play. According to him the number of goals scored was on the high side compared to when a team in set up to defend.

He spoke about that his plan was to bring in Virgil Van Dijk and Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea after he won the league in 2017.

"My history says that I always arrived at my clubs in a difficult situation with problems. I always build. After my first season at Chelsea, when we won the title, we could have become dominant in England. We spoke with (Romelu) Lukaku and (Virgil) van Dijk, and with those two important players we could have changed the situation."

He also spoke about his what drives him to success whenever he joins a club, a feat he achieved when he was at Juventus, Inter Milan and Chelsea.

"If the final target is to win the league and lift trophies, it’s important to offer entertainment to the crowd,” said Conte. “But to be only an entertaining team is not enough if you want to win. I know because I coached the top teams and they always asked to win. For me, now it’s impossible to work for an only entertainment team because the expectation is always that you have to win. I love my past, but at the same time the expectation you bring is always very high and if you don’t win, you have failed. The best possible option is to entertain and win. With a knowing smile, he added: “And to be celebrated, I have to win. Otherwise, the others are waiting to celebrate my failure. This is the truth.”

Conte's last job was with Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, he was sacked midway into the season following the club's poor run of form in the Premier League.

This is the second time a premier league side would sack Conte following the poor run of form of the team under his management 16 months after taking over the Spurs side.

The final decision taken by the association was announced on the official website of the FA on Friday, August 26th, 2022. FORMER WORLD NUMBER 1 TENNIS PLAYER OPTS OUT OF US OPEN DUE TO PREGNANCY

Both managers were given until Thursday, August 25th, 2022 by the association to appeal the punishment issued to them. The managers were fined following their brawl after the game between Chelsea and Tottenham which was played at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 14th, 2022.

Tuchel and Conte admitted their wrongdoing and also said that they could have done better in their decision-making after the game. However, the Chelsea manager was charged with a breach of the FA rule E3 in relation to comments he made during his press conference about referee Anthony Taylor.

It is alleged that Tuchel's comments constitute improper conduct as contrary to FA Rule E3.1, they imply bias and/or question the integrity of the match referee and/or bring the game into disrepute.

Chelsea will now have to decide if they will appeal the decision by the FA, this will determine when the touchline ban will take effect.
