The Super Falcons of Nigeria suffered a shocking defeat in the hands of the Bayana Bayana of South Africa in the first match of group c of the Africa Women Cup Of Nations (WAFCON 2022).

The Super Falcons had played below the expectations of many who had very high hopes of them going far in the competition and also securing a spot in the FIFA World Cup.

The Bayana Bayana of South Africa displayed class and also exhibited their technical ability as they were able to string passes that yielded good results by putting them 2 goals ahead before the Super Falcons had reduced the deficit to 1 as the match ended 2-1 in favour of South Africa.

The Falcons still have games in hand where they can turn the tide around and capitalize on their quality as a star studded team.
