The official social media handle of the Super Eagles of Nigeria has confirmed that only 21 of the 23 players invited to camp ahead of the two-leg fixture of the AFCON qualifiers have arrived in camp, and football fans can not help but wonder if Victor Osimhen is part of the 21 players that have arrived in camp after speculations indicate that the goal-scoring machine might miss the fixture due to injury sustained in the last outing of the club.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria ran riots on the national side of Sao Tome and Principe to set a new goal-scoring record in the country's international football history in the AFCON qualifiers 2023 which took place today, Monday, June 13, 2022.

The Super Eagles scored an astonishing 10 goals against the Sao Tome and Principe side who could not even score one in response.

This is the highest goal margin Nigeria has ever used to defeat any other national side. Napoli striker Victor Osimhen scored 4 goals in the 9th, 48th, 65th and 84th minutes. Moffi bagged 2 goals in the 43rd and 60th minute with players like Moses Simon scoring in the 28th minute, Oghenekaro Etebo (55′), Ademola Lookman (63′) and Emmanuel Dennis (90+2′) as well.

This victory follows the victory the team had attained against Sierra Leone in the first fixture of the AFCON qualifiers.

The AFCON Qualifiers match between Nigeria and Sierra Leone marked the first victory for the Super Eagles of Nigeria under the leadership of Jose Peseiro. Goals from Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi completed the comeback for the Super Eagles after going one goal down in the 11th minute.

Although the second leg would still be played later in preparation for the AFCON 2023 scheduled to take place in Cote d'Ivoire, the Super Eagles of Nigeria look to be in a better form compared to what was played at the friendlies in May 2022.

The players could have gotten more goals but chances put to waste by Chukwueze and Osimhen put the game within reach of the Sierra Leonians till the referee blew the final whistle.
