However, even with the slowdowns, Afrobeats has continued proving its staying power on the world's stage, recruiting solidified 7.69% of the world's music economy for itself, in essence establishing a credible argument for continuing appeal and cross-border influence.

The scope and reach of Afrobeats could hardly be larger. Its sweet rhythms and enchanting melodies touch every listener across the world. In a rare continuation over the past year, the genre commanded by airwaves slowly established itself in mainstream pop culture while keeping a score internationally. Thought it was just the henny, so we brushed it off
Till I fell asleep from your shoulder rubs

As 2024 draws to a close, Nigerian duo Ajebo Hustlers wrap up the year with a fresh new single Ave Maria, featuring the super-gifted Victony. Produced by the talented Jaysnyths Beatz, the track brings together these three artists for a compelling collaboration that combines clever lyricism, melodic hooks, and a message that speaks to the realities of life, money, and ambition.

Ave Maria is a memorable track that expertly sees the chemistry between Ajebo Hustlers and Victony. The trio effortlessly complements each other, creating a smooth and cohesive sound. Known for their streetwise lyrics and playful delivery, Ajebo Hustlers bring their usual swagger to the song, while Victony’s signature emotive vocals add a layer of introspection. Together, they tell relatable and poignant stories, balancing catchy melodies with lyrics that resonate deeply with listeners.

One of the song’s standout lines, "Na money be the problem, money be the solution," captures one of the themes of the track, as the artists reflect on the dual nature of wealth. In a society where financial stability is both a dream and a burden, Ave Maria dives into the complexity of chasing success while dealing with its challenges. This theme is woven through the track’s lyrics, as each artist brings a personal perspective on money, struggle, and ambition.

The production by Jaysnyths Beatz is polished and layered, with Afrobeats rhythms that pulse under smooth, melodic instrumentation. The beat is both upbeat and laid-back, allowing the lyrics to take center stage while maintaining a danceable and infectious groove. The song’s vibe is celebratory yet introspective, making it the perfect tune for late-night gatherings, reflective moments, or simply vibing with friends.

Ajebo Hustlers and Victony’s seamless vocal interplay further enhances the track’s appeal, with each artist bringing their own flavour and energy. The blend of Ajebo Hustlers' streetwise, laid-back flow and Victony's soulful, melodic delivery creates a unique synergy, drawing listeners in with a sound that feels fresh and familiar.

Nigerian singer, Fuayefika Maxwell, popularly known as Wizard Chan, has made a surprising announcement regarding his highly anticipated album, Time Traveler.

In a post on Instagram on Friday, October 18, 2024, Wizard Chan revealed that two tracks, Water featuring Victony and Home featuring Ayo Maff, will no longer be part of the project.

According to the singer, the decision was made due to production and management issues beyond his control. Also, he emphasized that the change has nothing to do with his collaborations with Victony and Ayo Maff. He praised them for their support.

"Please note that these changes have nothing to do with my brothers Victony & Ayo maff as they have been very supportive of this project," Wizard Chan stated.

Meanwhile, as a result of these changes, Wizard Chan has also announced a delay in the release date of Time Traveler. However, the new release date is yet to be confirmed.

Additionally, Wizard Chan expressed gratitude to Victony and Ayo Maff, hinting at future collaborations. "Thank you Vic, Thank you Ayo, until next time when we can share these beautiful records with the world," he wrote.

Lastly, fans of the singer will have to wait longer to experience the full Time Traveler album, but Wizard Chan's assurance of the tracks' quality and potential future release offers some consolation.

So, a statement on his X handle, Victony expressed frustration with unrealistic expectations placed on his career. Also, he emphasized that he is not rushing to match the success of his contemporaries, Rema and Asake.

Victony wrote, "Lmao, Victony need more haters gotta be the dumbest shit I seen cos what's the rush? Everyone wanna be Rema and Asake in 2 hours?"

Meanwhile, Victony's response comes after social media users suggested that his album's performance would have benefited from negative buzz generated by critics.
